I have helped my father and have purchased a home under my name, while giving my father POA. He has not paid the mortgage, took loans against the house and has opened credit cards under my name. He wants to do a short sale. Can anyone please explain to me what damage this does to my name. I am also wondering if it is legal that he has opened credit cards under my name and if I "tell" what would happen to my father. Please help.

I was wondering if someone knows the answer to my questions. I went through a divorce last year, where our home was sold through a short sale. My exhusband's girlfriend bought our home. My exhusband and his girlfriend are now living in the home. In other words, my exhusband was relieved of the mortgages and now lives in the home with his girlfriend. Is this fraud? Is anybody out there doing any investigating on this?
